Bergkirchweih: Traffic restrictions
Stand: 13.06.2025
Various traffic restrictions have been in place in the northern part of the city since May 19 due to the Bergkirchweih.
The 270th Erlangen Bergkirchweih was opened punctually at 5 p.m. on June 5. The celebrations continue until Monday, June 16.
On the most popular days of the Bergkirchweih - June 5 to 8 and June 13/14 - the main road and Bayreuther Straße between Martin-Luther-Platz and the junction with Baiersdorfer Straße will be closed in both directions from 5:00 pm. It will also no longer be possible to drive through from Essenbacher Straße in a westerly direction from 17:00 on these days.
In addition, access from the side streets (Adlerstrasse, Vierzigmannstrasse, Cedernstrasse, Nördliche Stadtmauerstrasse, Wöhrstrasse and Haagstrasse) into Hauptstrasse and Bayreuther Strasse will be prohibited. On the remaining days (June 9 to 12, June 15/16), this closure will only take place from 20:00.
In addition, Martin-Luther-Platz between Mittlerer Schulstraße and Cedernstraße (east-west direction) and Hauptstraße between Heuwaagstraße and Martin-Luther-Platz will be closed on all days from 20:00. During this period, it will not be possible to enter the main road from the side streets (Engelstrasse, Glockenstrasse and Kuttlerstrasse).
In Spardorfer Straße, there will be a continuous stopping ban until the traffic lights at the Bärengarten restaurant. In Rathsberger Straße, access from the east is no longer possible. The parking area in front of the rooms used by the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund and the fire department opposite the Bärengarten restaurant is cordoned off. Due to the construction of the podium, parking is prohibited east of the property An den Kellern 49 up to Rathsberger Straße, including on the hard shoulder. The same applies to the construction of the stores (May 19 to June 4): On the east side of Bergstrasse, between Essenbacher and Jägerstrasse, there is a ban on stopping. The parking regulations and the partial parking ban in the area of the festival grounds must also be observed.
All restrictions and closures are signposted accordingly.
