No small claim makes the title of the exhibition "Images that change the world" with images of the Swedish "Gender Photographer" Tomas Gunnarsson on the subject of "Norm Criticism", which will be seen from 3 to 30 November 2022 in the exhibition room on the first floor of the main library of the FAU. While the world may seem a somewhat over-ambitious goal, the exhibition, which has now been seen in numerous countries, at least aims to change the individual's world (view). It is dedicated to the question of how different people are usually portrayed in pictures - How are women shown? Like men? Like a boss? -, who is depicted at all, what the pictures thereby convey, and shows impressive images in which common clichés are avoided.

In the context of the exhibition, Karina Brehm (Scandinavian Studies, FAU) is offering two courses for Scandinavian Studies students this winter semester: In the course Language and Culture 1, the topics of inclusion and diversity in Swedish children's literature will be considered and some children's books will be translated into German and presented at the exhibition. In Exercise 2 in the advanced module Performativity, students will devote themselves to the preparation and implementation of the exhibition; among other things, short, in-depth lectures on individual aspects of the subject area will be organized.

The organizers would like to thank the Swedish Institute and the Swedish Embassy Berlin for their support in the preparation and implementation of the exhibition.
