Sponsorship agreement between the city and the Gemeinnütziger Theater- und Konzertverein (gVe) approved
Stand: 06.02.2023
It is firmly part of the cultural life of the city of Erlangen and the region. The Gemeinnützige Theater- und Konzertverein Erlangen (gVe) is the oldest cultural citizens' initiative in Erlangen and enjoys a high reputation far beyond the city limits.
From 2022 to 2024, the gVe will now receive an annual special subsidy of 252,700 euros from the city in addition to the regular subsidy of 97,300 euros per year from the city of Erlangen. In order to create planning security and ensure the transparency of the subsidy, this will in future be set out in a subsidy agreement.
The subsidy is intended to enable the association to take measures to increase the occupancy rate of its concerts and thus secure its high-quality program of classical and modern music in Erlangen. These measures include, among other things, the staging of at least ten concerts by internationally renowned musicians or ensembles in the Heinrich-Lades-Halle or concerts of comparable format per concert season, as well as the continuation of social pricing, for example Erlangen Pass, discounts for schoolchildren, ticket allotment for the Kulturtafel.
Founded in 1876 by citizens of the city of Erlangen and members of the university, the gVe has made it its mission to provide a cultural offering of a high standard. Today, the gVe stands for concerts with world stars of classical music, for the discovery of new talents and for unique musical experiences. In addition, family concerts, or special events and a separate series with contemporary music are designed.
