You must meet the following requirements to train as a*media and information services specialist in the library field:
- You have at least a middle school diploma
- You successfully participate in the recruitment test of the city of Erlangen in September of the year preceding the year of recruitment.

Vocational Training
The practical part of your training will mainly take place at the City Library of the City of Erlangen. During your training, you will be introduced to the various fields of activity and systematically familiarized with the contents of the job. Here you will have the opportunity to practically apply, consolidate and deepen what you have learned in vocational school.
During your practical training, you will be supervised by competent instructors who will give you an insight into the various tasks and everyday life as a specialist employee for media and information services and will also gradually give you the opportunity to take on these tasks independently.
A healthy feedback culture is emphasized at the City of Erlangen: You will receive feedback on strengths and weaknesses so that you always know how you can actively develop further in order to expand and enhance your skills.
During your training, you will receive a monthly training allowance (gross)

The training remuneration is based on the collective agreement for trainees in the public service (TVAöD).
