16th meeting of the inner city opinion group
Stand: 02.09.2024
and adoption of the inner city neighborhood management
The 16th meeting of the City Center Opinion Group took place on 24 July 2024 at the Zentrum für Austausch und Machen (ZAM) at Erlanger Hauptstraße 65-67. At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Lohse, Head of the Office for Urban Planning and Mobility, introduced the new Head of Planning and Construction of the City of Erlangen, Mr. Harald Lang, as Mr. Weber's successor, and the new Head of Urban Renewal and Urban Design, Ms. Yvonne Slanz, as Ms. Cremer-Zwikla's successor.
The meeting was dominated by the farewell to the previous inner city district management. Neighborhood manager Ms. Pohl and Mr. Wölfel from CIMA Beratung + Management GmbH gave an overview of the numerous activities and projects initiated or supported by the neighborhood management over the past twelve years.
The previous work of the QM Innenstadt was based on the action plan from 2004 and the urban development retail concept from 2011 with a focus on retail in the city center. Since the coronavirus years at the latest, the challenges facing a well-functioning city center have changed and become more diverse. The development of the city center is an ongoing process. In addition to retail, aspects such as cultural offerings, leisure, education, exercise, art projects, social interaction, sustainability and alternative forms of mobility are playing an increasingly important role in the city center.
The city center needs a new holistic action plan that meets the current challenges for its positive development. The planning instrument for this is an "Integrated Urban Development Concept", which also forms the essential basis for financial support from urban development funding. In connection with the creation of an ISEK, the necessary reorganization of the neighbourhood management is also being discussed and initiated. The preparation and implementation of the ISEK is dependent on the necessary personnel and financial resources.
There will probably be no regular meeting of the MTK Innenstadt in 2025. A newsletter (once or twice) to all MTK members is planned.
After the end of the neighborhood management's activities, you should continue to receive the support and information you need. For your suggestions and ideas, please continue to contact the following known offices:
