A warm welcome to the City of Erlangen!
Services at City Hall and Online
We’re here for you— in person and online. You don’t need an appointment for the Citizen Services office on the ground floor of City Hall (to apply for ID cards, change your address, handle driver’s license matters, obtain criminal background checks, register a vehicle, or apply for a resident parking permit or a parking permit for people with severe disabilities). You can book an appointment for certain services at the Citizen Service Center.
Current wait times for the Citizen Service Center
You can also visit the Welcome Desk of the Immigration Office on the 2nd floor without an appointment. Otherwise, you must generally schedule an appointment before visiting City Hall. However, many matters can also be handled by phone or online. You can find in-person services, online services, and restrictions on our offerings on our service portal.
If you’re coming to see us: Access to City Hall is only possible through the main entrance on Rathausplatz. Access to City Hall from the east side (“City Hall rear entrance”) is restricted to city employees and delivery services. Dogs are generally not permitted. Exceptions are only possible if bringing a dog is necessary for health or educational reasons (e.g., service or therapy dogs) or if the dog owner has been asked by the city to bring their dog to the office.
