The Environment, Transport and Planning Committee of Erlangen City Council decided in a public meeting on
meeting on 11.05.2021 to amend the land use plan with integrated landscape plan 2003 for the sub-area - former railroad areas south of Hilpertstraße - in accordance with the provisions of the German Building Code (BauGB).
In accordance with Section 2 (1) sentence 2 of the German Building Code (BauGB), the decision to amend the plan was published in accordance with local practice.
The spatial scope of application is shown in the site plan printed below.
In accordance with the provisions of the German Building Code (Section 3 (1) BauGB), early public participation was carried out from October 17, 2022 up to and including November 11, 2022.

The former operational areas of the railroad south of Hilpertstrasse to the east of the Nuremberg-Bamberg railroad line were released in 2011 after having been used only extensively for some time.
After the sale by the railroad company, the new landowner expressed the intention to use this land for commercial purposes with a significantly higher building density and to provide it with adequate development. This gave the city of Erlangen a need for action and a reason to reorganize the site in terms of urban development.
The 21st amendment to the effective FNP 2003 is a suitable measure to adapt the urban land-use planning to the intended use and to the result of an urban planning competition for a commercial yard, on which the future development is based.
The preliminary draft of the 21st amendment to the land use plan with integrated landscape plan 2003 is also on display in the town hall foyer during the exhibition period.
