The school administration office has decided to no longer approve school transportation to a school in Herzogenaurach, even though the distance to the school is over 4 km. Erlangen schools are twice as far away and the children would have to change several times.

Answer from the school administration office:
In the meantime, the youth traffic school of the Erlangen City Police Inspectorate has checked the route to the Neuses bus stop according to the criteria for safe routes to school. With feedback from 23.11.2023, it was informed that the route to the Neuses bus stop north of Niederndorfer Straße cannot be used as a route to school after the current construction site has been completed and the mobile traffic light system has been removed, as the crossing is too dangerous for children. An upgrade of this bus stop to create a safe route to school is being examined within the city administration. After further consultation with the government of Middle Franconia, the Niederndorf bus stop can therefore be recognized as the closest bus stop as part of the organizational assessment. The lowest transportation costs to the secondary school in Herzogenaurach from the Niederndorf bus stop include the costs of tariff level F. Reimbursement of these costs for the transportation of children is possible retroactively from the start of the 2023/2024 school year. At the end of the school year, you can submit the enclosed application for reimbursement of travel costs with the tickets purchased or invoice/payment receipt.
