2026 fountain season begins

Every year, the fountain season in Erlangen begins after Easter. Despite budget consolidation and the associated savings, selected fountains will also go into operation this year.
Three fountains are already running
Water is already gurgling in the traditional Pauli fountain on the market square. The fountain on Beşiktaşplatz, which is particularly popular with children and families, is also running again. It is also planned to put the fountain on Altstädter Kirchenplatz back into operation as soon as possible. It can be operated again thanks to a fundraising campaign from last year.
Fountain on Ohmplatz currently out of service
The fountain on Ohmplatz, on the other hand, cannot provide refreshment as usual until further notice. During the winter break, massive water damage occurred, which caused considerable damage to the entire fountain technology, including the electrical distribution system. The cause of the damage is currently being investigated. At the same time, it is being examined how repairs can be carried out and what financial resources are required for this. A date for recommissioning is therefore not yet foreseeable.
