Chance 8.9.Plus

Chance 8.9.Plus is an extracurricular, individualized support program offered by the Erlangen City Youth Welfare Office that assists young people as they prepare to graduate from high school.
Just like youth social work in schools, Chance 8.9.Plus is a youth welfare service provided under Section 13 of SGB VIII—Youth Social Work.
Chance 8.9.Plus is aimed at adolescents in the 8th and 9th grades and beyond (Plus) who have increased (academic) needs for assistance and support and who do not receive the appropriate academic or personal support from any other institution or do not actively take advantage of such support.
Chance 8.9.Plus is offered at the Büchenbach and Anger locations.
The services are free of charge and are subject to confidentiality.
Chance 8.9.Plus offers:
- Learning support
- Counseling on academic and extracurricular issues
- Support in preparing for school-leaving exams, e.g., Quali or MSA
- Help in difficult situations or crises
- Advice on difficult decisions
- Support during the transition from school to work.

Youth social work at schools for young people
Here, children, young people and their families find support in crises and difficult life situations. Together with the employment agency and the job center, youth social work at schools for young people offers young people and young adults in the youth employment agency (JBA) comprehensive support to help them gain a foothold in the job market.
