Land use plan of the city of Erlangen

The land use plan with integrated landscape plan Erlangen 2003 came into effect on August 21, 2003. In the interests of sustainable development, the previously independent land use plan and landscape plan have been merged into a complex unit. The objectives of nature conservation and landscape planning are thus given the same binding force as the objectives of land use planning.

The environmental impact assessment (EIA) was an important planning basis for the preparation of the land use plan with integrated landscape plan Erlangen 2003. The EIA examined the effects of the planning on the environment for the city as a whole. The aim was to avoid or minimize adverse effects on environmentally relevant protected goods (plants, animals, soil, water, etc.) by examining planning alternatives.

An explanatory report is attached to the land use plan with integrated landscape plan Erlangen 2003. The explanatory report sets out the objectives as well as the key elements and statements of the land use plan in a clear and comprehensible manner.
