Immission control; open-air events

Pubs, discotheques and events with music performances must be set up and operated as "facilities not requiring approval under immission control legislation" in accordance with Section 22 of the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) in such a way that

1. harmful effects on the environment are prevented which are avoidable according to the state of the art,
2. harmful effects on the environment that are unavoidable according to the state of the art are kept to a minimum,
3. the waste generated during the operation of the facilities can be disposed of properly.

Public open-air events must always be reported to the City of Erlangen's Public Order Office in accordance with Art. 19 of the State Criminal and Ordinance Act (LStVG). Certain events also require a permit in accordance with the LStVG and/or other laws (GastG or Road Traffic Regulations (StVO)). The Office for Environmental Protection and Energy Issues/Lower Immission Control Authority checks the noise protection and specifies the requirements.
