Girls' Day & Boys' Day 2026
Stand: 23.02.2026
Practicing equality and equal opportunities to promote young talent at the City of Erlangen
On April 23, 2026, the city of Erlangen is once again inviting students to the nationwide Girls' Day & Boys' Day.
The city of Erlangen has long recognized this: Equality and diversity are not nice extras, but key success factors for the future. As a modern employer, we want to show young people that career paths are open to everyone, regardless of their gender. This is not only a contribution to social justice, but also strengthens us in the competition for the best specialists.
The day of action therefore stands for more than just a "taster internship". It is an important signal against outdated role models and for real equal opportunities. Together with dedicated employees, the city of Erlangen is committed to helping girls and boys discover new professions, break down prejudices and find their own path.
Every young person deserves the opportunity to be curious, ask questions and find out where their strengths lie - regardless of gender.
Impressive figures: Girls' Day & Boys' Day nationwide
- Over 100,000 girls and boys take part in Girls' Day & Boys' Day every year (source: girls-day.de).
- Around 12,000 companies, organizations and administrations open their doors.
- Girls' Day is the largest career orientation day for girls, while Boys' Day specifically promotes boys in social professions.
Review 2025: A wide range of insights into the public sector
Last year, we were able to offer more internships than ever before - in an impressive variety of professional fields: from the car workshop to the nursery, from the fire department to the theater, city library, environmental protection and daycare centers. Numerous young people took the opportunity to get to know the public sector and gain an insight into the many different areas of work in the city administration. This was made possible by the commitment of our colleagues, who put their heart and soul into organizing the day.
Outlook: Achieving even more together
For 2026, we want to inspire even more young people and further strengthen the city of Erlangen as an attractive, modern and future-oriented employer. The organization is once again in the hands of the Personnel and Organization Office and the Equal Opportunities Office. Supported by an attractive accompanying program, we make Girls' Day & Boys' Day an experience that has a lasting effect.
We cordially invite all young people to take part and all employees to shape this day with internship offers, ideas and commitment!
You will find the internship offers of the City of Erlangen online here from the beginning of March à
