IN AKTION" took place for the first time in Erlangen on June 6. 110 volunteers from 6 companies pitched in as part of the "IN ACTION" partnership days. The aim: to support charitable organizations in Erlangen and at the same time create space for non-profit organizations and companies to meet. 13 teams from six companies organized a summer party, redesigned rooms, renovated, built and planted.
The results:
an edible forest garden was created at Solidarische Landwirtschaft in Erlangen
- the Hermann-Hedenus Middle School was given a green classroom
- a wall was redesigned and painted for Lebenshilfe Erlangen
- rooms were renovated for the mothers' and families' meeting place.
At the closing ceremony, Lord Mayor Florian Janik was impressed: "Commitment is an essential pillar for any healthy democracy. This day shows that companies and people in our midst think beyond themselves and stand up for the weaker members of society. We also need this commitment to strengthen cohesion in our city."

IN AKTION is a day of action organized by the City of Erlangen (Office for Citizen Participation and Volunteering) and TÜREN ÖFFNEN (a project of the Institute for Social and Cultural Work, ISKA gGmbH for short). In future, it will take place annually.
