municipal. Storchennest children's house - Anna-Goes-Straße
Stand: 18.09.2024
The Storchennest children's house is a mixed-age daycare facility where children from the age of one to the end of primary school are cared for in the age-specific educational areas of crèche, kindergarten and after-school care. It has a total of 102 places and is located in the southern district of Eltersdorf.
Eltersdorf is a district of Erlangen with a partly village-like character. The town center consists of farms, surrounded by new buildings, detached and semi-detached houses and commercial areas. There are meadows, fields and ponds in the immediate vicinity. This means freedom of movement and good living conditions for children. With good transport links and a bus stop on the doorstep, our house is also ideal for parents without a car.
We have the following spatial resources in our building:
In the kindergarten there are two group rooms of approx. 50 m² each, two side rooms of approx. 16 m² and each with its own sanitary facilities.
In addition to the large main group room with its large play gallery, our after-school care center has two homework rooms, a work room and a materials room and - of course - gender-separated toilet facilities.
The crèche uses a main group room with lots of play and exercise activities, a cozy bedroom and playroom as well as a play corridor.
For sports and exercise as well as events of all kinds, we have the almost 60 m² multi-purpose room and our spacious terrace on the upper floor at our disposal.
A spacious staff room serves as a retreat for the team during breaks and preparation times; our regular team meetings also take place here.
On the first floor you will also find our baby carriage storage room and the office of our management staff, where we will be happy to welcome you for a registration meeting.
In the corridor area you will find a cozy parents' corner - for the children there are a variety of play and activity options in addition to the checkrooms.
We are particularly proud of our - in this form unique - play staircase, which in addition to the "normal" staircase provides a second connection between the ground floor and the upper floor and promotes encounters between the children from the different groups in our building.
All group rooms are functionally equipped, including small kitchens. Chairs, tables and cupboards are made of light-colored wood. It is up to the individual groups to decide how to position the furnishings. The furniture was designed to be child-friendly and practical.
In addition to high play levels, there are plenty of construction materials, cars, puzzles, board games, books, nature and creative materials (pencils, plasticine, paper, etc.) in all groups.
We make sure that there are enough materials for every age group and every stage of development. For our school children, for example, there are more challenging play materials that are only accessible to them.
Outdoor facilities:
The children's house has a beautiful large garden with trees, hedges and a large sand area. The children have the opportunity to play in the nooks and crannies or to use them as quiet areas. There is also permanently installed play equipment in the garden (slide, swings, climbing frame, trampoline, playhouse) as well as an artificial stream with water play and mud facilities and a large play hill.
The foundations, guidelines and principles of our educational work, which are anchored in our concept and which we live and reflect with conviction and idealism at the Kinderhaus, are geared towards the individual child and are based on their age, stage of development, interests and educational needs.
Through our largely open and comprehensive work in the Kinderhaus, we want to prepare the children for the many challenges of life in the best possible way, in close and trusting cooperation with their parents:
- We offer a variety of learning stimuli and focus our individual educational goals on strengthening the positive development of each child.
- In an atmosphere characterized by appreciation, trust and security, we want to support and encourage children to develop their individual educational potential in the best possible way.
- In a loving and stimulating learning environment, we aim to combine positive feelings and learning, thereby increasing learning motivation and the effectiveness of learning processes.
- An important medium of holistic personality development is communicative and cooperative exchange. For this reason, we encourage and support a variety of joint learning activities both among the children and with adults.
- We try to design the learning stimuli in such a way that the child is challenged and active as holistically as possible, acting, thinking and trying things out for themselves.

The new central daycare center registration portal "Kitafinder" will soon be launched for registration in a daycare center and in child daycare in the city of Erlangen. You can find more information about the Kitafinder at erlangen.de/kitafinder.
Registration for the municipal daycare centers is currently not possible due to the preparations for the Kitafinder. We ask for your understanding.
From the end of June, you will be able to register your child at a municipal daycare center via the Kitafinder. Registration for the vast majority of daycare facilities run by independent providers (including church and private crèches, kindergartens and after-school care centers) will then also take place via the Kitafinder portal.
