JaS—Youth Social Work in Schools—is a youth welfare service under Section 13 of SGB VIII and represents a particularly intensive form of collaboration between youth welfare services and schools. Social education specialists see themselves as a liaison between the school, students, legal guardians, social service agencies, and other institutions.
