Practice-integrated training to become an educator

With 15 crèches, kindergartens, children's houses and after-school care centers as well as 14 play and learning rooms, the Erlangen City Youth Welfare Office is one of the most important providers of daycare facilities in the city.

Your tasks:

• Independent and autonomous work with the children and young people entrusted to your care

• Strong social and communication skills as well as teamwork and cooperation skills

• Good German language skills (at least C 1 CEFR for foreign school or vocational training)
• At least an intermediate school leaving certificate
• If you already meet one of the following requirements, you can start the three-year practice-integrated training program to become an educator directly:
  • Completed vocational training as a state-certified childcare worker
  • a completed introductory social year (SEJ)
  • at least two years of completed non-specialist vocational training in accordance with the Vocational Training Act or technical college training
  • the (technical) university entrance qualification

If you do not meet any of the other requirements listed above, you have the opportunity to complete the Social Introductory Year (SEJ) with us in advance in order to gain direct access to practice-integrated training.
