Curriculum vitae
I was born in Fürth in 1965. After graduating from the Marie-Therese-Gymnasium in Erlangen in 1984, I trained as a bank clerk at the former Bayerische Vereinbank AG in Erlangen. In 1991, I completed my studies in business administration at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Nuremberg with a degree in business administration. I then worked at various banks in Erlangen in the area of commercial real estate financing. On March 1, 2000, I was elected as a professional city councillor of the city of Erlangen for the first time and became head of the Department of Economics and Labor. Since 2003, I have also been responsible for the city treasury, the department has since been called "Economy and Finance".
Konrad Beugel in conversation
To put it briefly: the complexity. I am involved in many topics with this unit - either because they have economic or financial implications.
Firstly, the healthy development of our economy! If it is successful, there will be interesting companies and jobs and a corresponding income for citizens to secure their livelihoods.
And secondly, sound finances! To create a lovable and liveable city - today and sustainably in the future.
We are not primarily interested in companies relocating to Erlangen from other locations. We want to offer founders and our existing companies good framework conditions for development. And anyone setting up or "doing business" here will find a good transport infrastructure, well-functioning networks within the business community, a top university and a business development agency with an "open ear for business"!
As a teenager I could have imagined that, but today I answer the question with a "no". Erlangen is also excellently represented by our Minister of State Joachim Herrmann.
The Palais Stutterheim, the palace garden with palace and orangery - and the "Berg".
At Christmas time at the Waldweihnacht - and in spring and summer in the castle garden or in the botanical garden.
Pop and classical music - also mixed, i.e. "classical meets pop"
My bikes (one private and one for work), my Beetle convertible and my garden - the greenery is so good for the eye.
The Economic Department can always be reached during normal office hours - by phone, fax or visit. And outside office hours, of course, by e-mail - "7/24". All information can be found on the city's homepage.
Or even better: network via LinkedIn and find out the latest news about Erlangen as a business location.
