The two Erlangen rowing clubs had a very special visit over Whitsun: eight rowers from Rennes made the long journey to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the partnership.

Their hosts offered the group a very varied program: they started on Friday with a rowing trip on the canal followed by a tour of Erlangen; on Saturday they explored the surrounding area with a tour to Bamberg and Walberla. A highlight was the trip with rowing boats to the Danube breakthrough in Weltenburg on Sunday, before the traditional morning pint of the Erlangen rowing club at the Bergkirchweih on Monday was the crowning finale. The Rennaisers were welcomed there not only by the band, but also by Lord Mayor Florian Janik.
Since 2017, when the rowers' home club in Rennes, the Société des Régates Rennaises, celebrated its 150th anniversary, this was the fourth exchange in total (with an interruption due to coronavirus). One thing is already certain: in two years' time, the Erlangen team will be heading to Rennes again.
