Castle garden concerts 2025

Stand: 13.06.2025

Well over 1,000 visitors came to the Schlossgarten on Mother's Day to mark the start of the series. Further concerts are planned.

Schlossgartenkonzert vor Orangerie in Erlangen. As an integral part of Erlangen's cultural life, the concert series has enjoyed great popularity among young and old for many years. Regionally, nationally and internationally renowned musicians and ensembles present challenging and captivating concerts in front of the Orangery in the wonderful ambience of the palace gardens (photo: Erich Malter) with works from a variety of genres, all free of charge. However, due to the tight budget situation, only four concerts will take place this year instead of the usual eight.

In the event of rain, the concerts will take place in the neighboring Redoutensaal, Theaterplatz 1. Information hotline: Sundays from 9:00 a.m. under the telephone number 09131/86-1417.

The 47th season of the Erlangen Palace Garden Concerts offers four concerts this year between May and August. Further information on all concerts can be found at the bottom of this page. It may take a moment to load the dates. Please be patient and refresh your page if necessary.

The "Radio Europa" ensemble played at the start

The first concert of the year traditionally took place on Mother's Day. In bright sunshine and against the impressive backdrop of Erlangen's castle gardens, the "Radio Europa" ensemble delighted well over 1,000 visitors.

With their musical journey across the continent, the musicians transported the audience into the soundscapes of a united and peaceful Europe. Lord Mayor Florian Janik and Head of Cultural Affairs Anke Steinert-Neuwirth welcomed the audience personally and used the festive setting to express their heartfelt thanks:

  • To Martin Kriegmaier from Sparda-Bank Nürnberg, which has supported the Schlossgartenkonzerte as a reliable partner since 2009.
  • And to Edith Scholz from the city's Department of Culture. She has organized the popular concert series with great dedication for over 30 years and is now taking her well-deserved retirement.
