Networking and specialist policy

The coordination group "SOGI - Sexual Orientations and Gender Identities in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region" - has been active since fall 2014 with the aim of promoting acceptance of and protection against discrimination in the area of SOGI. In addition to the exchange of information, the focus is on the joint initiation and implementation of events, projects and further training on the topic.

The coordination group is committed to the recognition of sexual and gender diversity and protection against discrimination on the basis of SOGI and LGBTIQ*.

Membership

The participants in the coordination group work in local government, education, NGOs and companies, specifically: they work in the cities of Nuremberg and Erlangen, at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and the Technical University of Nuremberg as well as at Fliederlich Nuremberg, Bildung Evangelisch Erlangen and Siemens Healthineers Erlangen.

Activities

Current activities: The coordination group held a networking meeting in Nuremberg on October 22, 2018 and has set the work priorities for 2019 as "SOGI basics" for multipliers and SOGI in personnel development.

In the fall of 2017, the SOGI coordination group helped organize a symposium on the new guidelines for sex education.
