Restrictions near Dechsendorf
Stand: 04.10.2024
Due to road renovations, there will be traffic restrictions on Weisendorfer Straße (state road 2240) until the end of October 2024.
From September 30, 2024, the Nuremberg State Building Authority will begin the comprehensive renewal of the road surface on state road 2240 between Heusteg and the entrance to Dechsendorf. The construction work is expected to last until the end of October 2024. The road will be fully closed from October 7 to October 21, 2024.
Reason for the renovation
The state road 2240 is severely damaged by cracks, crumbling and rutting and needs to be completely resurfaced over a length of around 2.3 kilometers. Repeated temporary repairs in recent years have only been able to repair the damage in the short term. The comprehensive renovation is now intended to repair the road in the long term.
Construction phases and traffic disruptions
The renovation work is divided into three construction phases, which are associated with closures and detour:
September 30 to October 4, 2024:
Half-sided closure as a temporary construction site to carry out preliminary work.
October 7 to October 21, 2024:
Full closure for asphalting work. A large-scale detour route will be set up for all traffic. There will also be traffic restrictions in Dechsendorf during this time.
October 21 until probably October 31, 2024:
Another half-sided closure as a temporary construction site for rework and the restoration of verges, access roads and junctions.
Detour and traffic regulation
During the full closure from October 7 to October 21, traffic will be diverted from Alterlangen via the road "Am Europakanal" and then via Frauenauracher Straße, Niederndorfer Straße, Hans-Ort-Ring in Herzogenaurach and the district road ERH14 to Beutelsdorf, Untermembach and Heßdorf. The exact detour plan can be viewed on the website of the Nuremberg State Building Authority.
There will also be traffic restrictions in Dechsendorf during the full closure:
- There will be one-way traffic on Brühl Street from north to south (between the junction of Naturbadstraße and the state road) as well as a ban on entering Röttenbacher Straße from Naturbadstraße in a northerly direction (except for cyclists).
- Stopping is prohibited throughout Naturbadstraße. The speed limit there will also be 30 km/h. The bottleneck in the area of the Dechsendorfer Weiher will be regulated by a mobile traffic light system.
- Further mobile traffic lights for pedestrians will be installed at the junction of Brühl Street / Naturbadstraße / Röttenbacher Straße, Naturbadstraße at the junction of Loheweg / Egerstraße and Hegenigstraße.
Effects on public transport
Bus services will also be affected by the construction work. Particularly during the full closure, the large-scale detour will lead to delays and possible cancellations on the regional lines 202, 202E, 203, 203E and 205. The city bus lines 283 and N 27 will also be rerouted and bus stops in the Erlangen city area will be closed. The Naturbadstraße and Dechsendofer Weiher bus stops will be relocated. The connection to the Schulzentrum West and the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium school will be maintained. The city bus routes will continue to run to the Grünauweg stop.
