Status of childcare requests & allocation of places

Here you will find answers to your questions about the status of your childcare inquiry and the procedure for allocating places.
As soon as a daycare center or childminder has decided to allocate a place, they will contact you by email or letter. You will then either receive a time-limited place reservation, which you must confirm with a link in the e-mail, by telephone, by replying to the letter or in your personal account, or you will receive a rejection with a corresponding reason (e.g. no free capacity).
If you have made several childcare requests, you can only receive one place offer. All other requests are paused. As soon as you reject an offer, the other childcare requests become active again.
If you have received a rejection, you can submit a new childcare request to another daycare center and use the priority that may have become "free" again.
The Kitafinder management system creates equal opportunities by preventing some parents from receiving several offers of places at the same time, while others are left empty-handed or have to wait longer.
As soon as an offer is made in the system, the other requests are paused (inactive).
If you accept the offer of a place within the specified period, the child is considered to be enrolled. If the offer is rejected, all other requests are automatically reactivated (active).
Every child should have a childcare place. There are over a hundred childcare facilities in Erlangen for children of different ages and with different providers.
The following applies to municipal daycare centers:
To ensure that the places in the municipal daycare centers are well distributed, there are municipal daycare center statutes. These regulate the allocation of places and help to ensure a fair distribution.
City of Erlangen daycare center statutes
The city of Erlangen has been building new daycare centers for three years now so that all children in Erlangen can have a place.
The name, address, contact details of the parents and children and the childcare data can be changed by the parents in the parent portal at any time.
If you click on the child's name under Childcare, you will see an overview of the requested facilities, provided you have saved your details.
Please note. When viewing on a cell phone, you must scroll to the right.
- Sent: Care request has just been created and is being sent to the portal
- Transmitted: The care request has been saved in the portal
- Active: The facility has viewed the childcare request and added it to the waiting list
- Deactivated: The childcare request has been rejected and is no longer active, the child is not on the waiting list.
- Canceled: No place could be offered, the child is still on the waiting list. A new request at this facility is unnecessary, other facilities can be requested
- Reservation: The facility has made an offer of a place, this must now be confirmed
- Has a contract: the child has an existing contract with a childcare facility
If an existing contract is to be changed to another facility, a change notice must be entered. This is the case, for example, if
- Relocation within Erlangen to a more distant district
- Problems of the child/family with the current childcare facility make a change necessary
- The crèche contract runs from the third year of life until next August 30, the child is to change to a kindergarten before then
In the case of a transfer reservation with an existing contract, up to three childcare requests can be made in order to give as many children as possible the chance of a place.
