Conference: Nazi "Euthanasia" in Franconia.

On July 9 and 10, 2026, the City Archives, in collaboration with the Institute for the History and Ethics of Medicine at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, will host the conference "Nazi 'Euthanasia' in Franconia: Repression, Coming to Terms, Remembrance"
The conference will focus on the crimes of the Nazi “euthanasia” program, their criminal and societal reckoning, and the challenges of remembrance and commemoration from historical, medical, legal, and cultural perspectives. In addition, current projects on the design of memorial and educational sites will be presented and discussed.
