Orangery
Stand: 15.10.2024
Information about the wedding ceremony in the Orangery (Schlossgarten 1, 91054 Erlangen)
The orangery was built in 1705/1706 under the direction of the classicist master builder Gottfried von Gedeler. The original purpose of the ornate semi-oval building was to grow orange trees and as a place of princely representation.
The orangery has been owned by the Friedrich Alexander University since 1818 and has been used for various teaching purposes ever since.
The water hall with its important stucco decoration provides a festive setting. Since 2012, the Orangery has been restored to its former glory following extensive renovations and has also been used for unforgettable wedding ceremonies by the registry office.
