On June 9, 2024, the urban community will be consulted on the future of the Stadt-Umlandbahn as part of a council decision. From the very beginning, the Zweckverband Stadt-Umland-Bahn has relied on the active participation of citizens, associations and organizations in the planning process. In addition to online participation, in which suggestions are collected in the various planning phases, the Zweckverband Stadt-Umland-Bahn regularly organizes events.
The "heart" of the participation is the so-called dialog forum, which consists of a fixed group of
participants (interest groups, randomly selected citizens, politicians) and continuously monitors the planning process. The dialog forum meets in public so that all interested parties can get involved. In addition to the dialog forums, on-site inspections and planning workshops for children and young people take place.
