Refinement of the planning and preparation for the first planning approval process.
As things stand now, the documents for the planning approval process are scheduled to be submitted starting in 2026. Construction could then begin in phases starting from Nuremberg in mid-2028.
Contribution from the City of Erlangen (with 90% funding of eligible costs): 49 million euros
From the very beginning, the Stadt-Umland-Bahn Special-Purpose Association has emphasized the active participation of citizens, associations, and organizations in the planning process. In addition to online participation—through which suggestions are collected during the various planning phases—the Stadt-Umland-Bahn Special-Purpose Association regularly organizes events.
At the “heart” of this participation process is the so-called Dialogue Forum, which provides ongoing input into the planning process. The Dialogue Forum meets publicly, allowing anyone interested to contribute. In addition to the Dialogue Forums, on-site tours and planning workshops for children and teenagers are held.
