A73 freeway lid
Stand: 08.03.2024
Together with the Free State of Bavaria and the federal highway company Autobahn GmbH, the city of Erlangen is looking for solutions to improve noise protection in the city area along the A 73 federal highway.
Informationen
The study on enclosing the BAB 73 has been publicly available since April 2019. A parallel report prepared by the Autobahndirektion Nordbayern for the BAB 73 predicts a significant increase in traffic for the city of Erlangen, north of the freeway junction, by 2035. The resulting expansion of the freeway would make noise protection measures necessary and possible. The submitted documents were forwarded to the responsible ministry in order to initiate an assessment (Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan). This is the prerequisite for the expansion and possible overbuilding of the A 73. The residents of the neighboring residential areas would benefit most from a possible enclosure of the freeway.
In a next step, the existing "Feasibility study on the urban development and landscape integration of a possible enclosure of the A73 motorway for the section from Tennenloher Straße to Paul-Gossen-Straße" will be extended to the Erlangen Zentrum junction.
Start of the first preliminary investigation in 2011
It is currently not possible to determine the costs.
The results of the feasibility study in Erlangen-Bruck were presented to the public in 2019. The results of the currently commissioned second part of the feasibility study will be presented to the public in the fourth quarter of 2024.
