The ZAM - Center for Exchange and Making - is being expanded and converted by many committed helpers and the operating association ZAM e. V. into a new place for making things together in the city center.

At the ZAM (Center for Exchange and Making) in the northern part of Erlangen's old town, people come together to work on craft, technical, artistic and entrepreneurial projects and exchange ideas. The results will be exhibited and ideas and solutions presented to an interested audience.
It will also be possible to rent coworking spaces or hold events at ZAM.
The first open workshops are scheduled to start regular operations in fall 2024.
Conversion estimate: 1.8 million euros. Here: Funding applied for from the EU REACT-EU program.
Post-Corona City project: 260,000 euros in funding approved by the federal government (National Urban Development Policy / BMI) over three years. A two-year funding agreement was concluded between the city of Erlangen and the association for 808,200 euros for 2023 and 555,000 euros for 2024. The funds will be used primarily for construction measures and for the development of the open workshops.
Committed citizens are the prerequisite for the success of this major project.
A large number of volunteers are already involved in the conversion and operation.
The Greiner property was purchased by the City of Erlangen by resolution in a closed meeting.
