2019 - A planning competition was launched by the company Der Beck in cooperation with the city of Erlangen for the construction of a new bakery (realization part) and the redesign of Egidienplatz (ideas part) The Eltersdorf town center was registered as an individual measure in the Bavarian urban development programme.
The winning design for the realization part has been completed. The preliminary planning has been completed and approved by the environment, transport and planning committee. No planning funds have been earmarked for external awards in the 2025 budget, but planning will continue within the city and no funds are expected to be available before 2030.
2023 - Completion of the preliminary design planning
