Stand: 22.05.2026

Informationen
Following the urban planning competition, the planning firm scheuvens + wachten plus was commissioned to draw up the framework plan. The City Council approved it in June 2024. The framework plan thus serves as the basis for further planning. Work is currently underway on various exploratory studies, concepts, and expert reports, which, taken together, will serve as the basis for further refining the framework plan and ultimately translating it into legally binding planning provisions via a zoning plan.
- Competition: 2019–2020
- Contract Award Process: 2020–2021
- Master Plan Process: 2021–mid-2024
- Zoning plan process expected to run from 2026 through the end of 2031
- Site development planning starting in 2026, expected to continue through the end of 2029
- Marketing expected to begin in 2028
- Implementation of infrastructure and building construction expected from 2031 through 2037
The costs for all subprojects are outlined in the respective resolution proposal.
The active involvement of citizens and stakeholders is an integral part of Regnitzstadt’s development. From July 24 to August 9, 2018, an exhibition of existing studies, ideas, and design proposals was held. Public participation in the competition call for entries took place on July 26, 2019, as part of a city walk combined with a participatory event. Citizens’ suggestions, wishes, and ideas were recorded and incorporated into the competition call for entries. An information and public participation event as part of the framework plan process took place on November 17, 2023. The public is kept informed on an ongoing basis throughout the project, for example through a city walk in June 2024.
As of now, there are no concrete plans for public participation formats in 2026; however, keeping the public informed and involved on an ongoing basis is still planned and will continue in the coming years.
