24th amendment to the land use plan with integrated landscape plan 2003 for the sub-area - Siemens Stadtquartier Süd - and early public participation
At a public meeting on July 24, 2025, the City Council of the City of Erlangen resolved to amend the land use plan with integrated landscape plan 2003 for the sub-area - Siemens Stadtquartier Süd - in accordance with the provisions of the German Building Code (BauGB).
In accordance with Section 2 (1) sentence 2 of the German Building Code (BauGB), the decision to amend the plan is hereby published in accordance with local custom.
The spatial area of application is shown in the site plan printed below. The map is based on the extract from the real estate cadastre dated January 2026.
In accordance with the provisions of the German Building Code (Section 3 (1) BauGB), early public participation will be carried out. The objectives and purposes of the planning are presented to the public, who are given the opportunity to comment and discuss them.
The preliminary draft of the 24th amendment to the land use plan with explanatory statement including environmental report will be presented to the public on the Internet from 23.02.2026 up to and including 27.03.2026.
Comments can be submitted during the publication period. These should be sent electronically to the e-mail address bauleitplanung@stadt.erlangen.de. If required, comments can also be submitted by other means.
In addition to publication on the Internet, the preliminary draft of the 24th land use plan amendment will be on public display at the Office for Urban Planning and Mobility (Gebbertstraße 1, 3rd floor) from 23.02.2026 up to and including 27.03.2026 during opening hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 12:00). There will be an opportunity to comment and discuss.

The early public participation will be accompanied by a public information event:
On Tuesday, 24.02.2026 there will be
a guided city walk through the plan area will take place at 17:00.
This will be followed at
- the public information event will begin at 6:15 pm, at which the planning will be presented.
The meeting point for both events is the Siemens Training Center (SPE), Henri-Dunant-Straße 1, 91058 Erlangen in the foyer. The events can be attended independently of each other. The venue is barrier-free. All interested parties are cordially invited to attend.
Siemens AG has been developing an open, modern and sustainably designed district - the Siemens Campus Erlangen (SCE) - on the approximately 54-hectare former Siemens research site in the south of the city of Erlangen for around 10 years.
On the site in the southern area of the campus, a diverse and sustainable living environment is to be developed in a new urban district with a range of different types of housing, supplemented by commercial uses, in line with the city council's resolution on the update of the Urban Quarter South Master Plan of 30.11.2023. Siemens AG held an urban planning competition in close cooperation with the city of Erlangen to develop the urban planning concept in more concrete terms as a basis for the upcoming acquisition of building rights.
The 24th amendment of the effective FNP 2003 is a suitable measure to adapt the urban land-use planning to the intended use and to the result of an urban planning competition for an urban quarter, which forms the basis for the future development.
The preliminary draft of the 24th amendment to the land use plan with integrated landscape plan 2003 is also on display in the town hall foyer during the exhibition period.
