50 years of voice for the older generation
Stand: 07.10.2024
For 50 years, the Senior Citizens' Advisory Council has represented the interests of Erlangen's 60+ residents.
20 percent of all Erlangen residents are aged 65 and over. They are the second largest age group after the 50 to 65-year-olds. For 50 years, the Erlangen Seniors' Advisory Council has been the mouthpiece and voice of the 60+ generation in the Huguenot city. As an advisory body, it assists the city administration and the city council in all matters relating to senior citizens' policy. It also serves as a point of contact for people aged 60 and over for suggestions and questions. The central aim of the Senior Citizens' Advisory Council is to address the living conditions of the older generation. It can submit proposals to the City Council via the Lord Mayor, which are then dealt with in committees or directly in the City Council.
