Severe weather can often cause damage to trees. It is important to take the right precautions.
After a storm, extreme caution is advised:
- trees may fall
- and branches may break off.
Therefore, road closures must be strictly observed.

Do you see a fallen tree on public property? You can report it to the City Parks Department. Contact: baumpflege@stadt.erlangen.de
When cleaning up your own basement, you should also pay particular attention to electrical appliances, flooded outlets, or similar hazards.

Heavy rainfall events are on the increase - and with them the risks for people, the environment and infrastructure. In order to better assess these dangers and develop suitable protective measures, a heavy rain hazard map is currently being drawn up for the entire city area.
Severe Weather: Over 200 Calls for Assistance — Several Areas Still Closed
A severe thunderstorm with gusty winds swept through Erlangen and the surrounding region early Tuesday evening. In the city limits alone, the fire department was called out more than 200 times. The heaviest activity was in the southern part of the city, including the neighborhoods of Frauenaurach, Bruck, Eltersdorf, and Tennenlohe. Cleanup efforts are ongoing.
