News about the Active Card

The Active Card will remain in place as recognition for voluntary work. At its meeting on February 27, 2025, the city council decided on its continued existence, changes and simplified administrative procedures.

In view of the budget crisis and the necessary budget consolidation measures, this voluntary service also had to be put to the test. The aim of the Mayor's and Press Office, which is responsible for voluntary work, was to maintain the Active Card and continue to offer attractive discounts. In order to achieve this goal, adjustments were necessary.

In future, the discounts for performances by schauspiel Erlangen and concerts by gve will therefore be significantly lower. Whereas previously a 50 percent discount was granted on performances, in future it will be 5 euros. At schauspiel Erlangen, however, this change will only come into effect from the 2025/2026 season. In future, holders of the Aktiv-Card will receive a discount of 1.50 euros on the admission price for Erlangen's swimming pools; previously, they paid two euros for admission. After the adjustment, holders of the Aktiv-Card will be entitled to the reduced price at the city's festivals; previously a discount of 50 percent applied. The vhs will continue to offer a 10 percent discount and ASB first aid courses a 50 percent discount. At the City Museum and the Kunstpalais, you can still use the reduced price with the Aktiv-Card, but the price will be increased by one euro in each case. At the city library, the reduced price (10 euros) applies to the annual fee; previously you had to pay 9.50 euros with the Aktiv-Card.

The postponed dispatch of the Aktiv-Card 2025 to registered clubs will begin on March 17.

Basic information about the Active Card

Since 2022, the Aktiv-Card has also been available as a digital version (app). This means it can simply be shown on a smartphone. This should make it even easier to access the benefits of the Aktiv-Card.

The Active Card app complements the paper version of the Active Card, which will continue to be sent to clubs every year. Associations that volunteer for Erlangen can obtain an Aktiv-Card from the Office for Citizen Participation and Volunteering. The Active Card has now been extended to the district of Erlangen-Höchstadt.

Are there any other requirements to be able to use an Active Card?

• vhs: 10% off all courses and events
• schauspiel erlangen: 50% discount on all performances at the Markgrafen- und Gargentheater (with the exception of rentals and New Year's Eve performances). From the 2025/2026 season: 5.00 euros discount on all performances at the Markgrafen- und Garagentheater
• City Museum: reduced admission (3.50 euros)
• Kunstpalais: reduced admission (3.00 euros)
• 24th international figuren.theater.festival 2025: reduced admission
• ASB : 50% discount on first aid course
• gVe: 5.00 euros discount on concerts
• Erlangen swimming pools: 1.50 euros discount on admission price

The Aktiv-Card entitles the holder to single admission only. Duplication is prohibited. No discount at EN advance booking offices.
