News on the Active Card

The city council approved the 2025 budget at its meeting on January 16, 2025. In addition to significant savings in personnel and ongoing administrative expenditure, cost savings are planned as part of a more extensive consolidation concept. The Active Card, as a voluntary service, had to be examined in this context and also from the perspective of provisional budget management.

The Mayor's and Press Office will therefore propose the continuation of the Active Card with adjustments to the Main, Finance and Personnel Committee on February 12, 2025 and the City Council on February 27, 2025. These adjustments concern internal processes to simplify administration and the reduction of individual discounts. The aim is and remains to continue to make the Active Card available to volunteers as a sign of recognition and appreciation. You will find the meeting documents in the city council information system approximately one week before the meeting date.

Basic information on the Active Card

Since 2022, the Active Card has also been available as a digital version (app). It can simply be shown on a smartphone. This should make it even easier to access the benefits of the Aktiv-Card.

The Active Card app complements the paper version of the Active Card, which will continue to be sent to clubs every year. Associations that volunteer for Erlangen can obtain an Aktiv-Card from the Office for Citizen Participation and Volunteering. The Active Card has now been extended to the district of Erlangen-Höchstadt.

Are there any other requirements to be able to use an Active Card?

As an association, you must be based in Erlangen and your work must be carried out by committed volunteers. If all these requirements are met, you can register in our freinet database with your contact details. You can register yourself via the following link:

If you want to use the Active Card app and the Active Card is already available for discounts in your organization, you can ask us whether the limited licenses for the app have already been allocated for this year.

The Aktiv-Card entitles the holder to single admission only. Duplication is prohibited. No discount at EN advance booking offices.
