Bock and Rosner Re-elected

At Thursday’s city council meeting, Sabine Bock and Dieter Rosner were re-elected to their positions as full-time city council members and directors of Environment and Climate Protection and Youth, Family, and Social Affairs, respectively, as part of the regular rotation. Their respective terms of office will begin on December 1, 2026, and January 1, 2027, respectively.

Sabine Bock

Since December 2020, Sabine Bock has headed the then-newly established Department of Environment and Climate Protection. In addition to the Office for Environmental Protection and Energy Issues, the department also houses the Office for Veterinary Affairs and Consumer Health Protection as well as the Drainage Authority. A native of Erlangen, she set important priorities for sustainable urban development during the previous legislative term. These included implementing the “Climate Renewal” initiative through the expansion of energy counseling and the networking of the business community, municipal heat planning, the pursuit of Erlangen’s climate goals, and the protection of natural resources.

Dieter Rosner

Since January 2021, Dieter Rosner has been responsible for the Social Services Office, the City Youth Welfare Office, and the Job Center. A native of the Upper Palatinate, he consistently focused the department’s work during his first term on social inclusion and equal opportunities for people in various life situations. Among other initiatives, the Erlangen Job Center was restructured as an independent municipal agency, the ErlangenPass was made available to people with low incomes, childcare services were expanded, the Youth Career Agency was founded, and neighborhood-based services for older adults were strengthened.
