Evaluation of the citizens' survey "Living in Erlangen 2023"

The city of Erlangen has been conducting regular citizen surveys with changing topics since 2001. The surveys focus on specific key topics, which are developed in cooperation with various specialist departments of the city.

One focus of the current survey relates to housing and the residential environment. This is particularly about local amenities. It is also of interest whether there is a desire to move and what the reasons for this are.

Another block of questions relates to the question of how the city of Erlangen can improve the information on offer about what is happening in the city: Which media are best used to reach which citizens? Where is there a need for optimization?

An extensive question, which was last asked in 2002, relates to the various tasks of the city administration: from road maintenance to childcare, cultural facilities to the promotion of housing construction, the citizens of Erlangen are asked in which areas they think municipal expenditure should be increased or reduced.

Once again, the citizen survey includes questions on mobility (choice of transport, sharing services)

The city of Erlangen has set itself the goal of becoming climate-neutral as soon as possible with its "Climate Awakening" initiative. The survey also contains extensive questions on this topic.
