Media and Information Services Specialist (FaMI)

City Library - to be filled as soon as possible - permanent position - Pay grade: EG 9a TVöD - Work hours: 23.5 hours/week, with the possibility of a temporary increase in hours to 36.5 hours/week.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Copyediting, particularly independent ordering, delivery verification, invoice verification, and cataloging of media—including for the Franken-Onleihe media network
  • Customer service, including providing information and advice, processing new registrations, updating user information, checking out and returning items, and inspecting the condition of media
  • Reshelving, arranging, and displaying media, as well as processing loans
  • Organizing events and library education programs, as well as public relations and online communication
  • Performing these duties at various locations, with a focus on the WEST! neighborhood library

Your Profile:

  • Completed vocational training as a media and information services specialist
  • Foreign language skills, especially in English, are a plus
  • Good computer skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) are desirable, as is a willingness to learn how to use subject-specific software
  • Ability to work well in a team and a strong customer- and service-oriented mindset
  • Willingness to take on responsibility and the ability to work independently, autonomously, and in a structured manner
  • Willingness to work across locations and to work outside of regular business hours
