Erlangen's leisure locations offer space for active leisure activities. A portrait of the work of the Office for District Work / Leisure Venues.

More than 130 playgrounds and leisure facilities with barbecue areas, 14 youth clubs and several leisure centers in the districts are available to Erlangen citizens of all ages for their leisure activities. There they can play, celebrate and relax as well as pursue their interests in a self-organized way. With these leisure centers, the city is creating an important basis for actively shaping
(community) life in Erlangen.

"Our aim is to offer people of all ages the opportunity to meet and spend their free time together or alone outside in the countryside. Regardless of whether you have a balcony or garden," emphasizes Stephan Beck, Head of the Office for District Work. The more than 130 playgrounds and leisure facilities throughout Erlangen alone offer almost unlimited opportunities for playing and running around, doing sports, lying in the sun, barbecuing and celebrating together or just relaxing.
