Five stops become barrier-free
Stand: 28.10.2024
A total of around 730,000 euros has been earmarked for the measures.
Five bus stops in the city will be made barrier-free in the coming year. This was decided by the city council's building committee a few days ago.
Which bus stops will be barrier-free?
As part of the continuous expansion of several bus platforms each year, the following stops will be accessible in 2025:
- Äußere Brucker Straße/Paul-Gossen-Straße Südwest
- Steigerwaldallee West
- Frankenwaldallee West and East
- Kanalstraße north and south
- Weinstraße West and East
The Kanalstrasse North and South and Weinstrasse West and East stops are to be rebuilt as part of the 2025 road surface renewal program.
How much will the upgrade cost?
A total of around 730,000 euros has been earmarked for the measures. The barrier-free expansion of bus bays is regularly subsidized with approx. 75% of the eligible costs.
