Are you worried about your child's development?
Are you looking for help because your child has been diagnosed with a developmental disorder or disability?
An integrative place in the daycare center should provide your child with targeted support and promote social integration within the group.
External or internal specialist services offer special support services and measures in the facility for children on an integrative place.
The prerequisite for an integrative place is an application for integration assistance.
An integrative place supports children and young people who
- develop more slowly than others
- need more support
- show abnormal behavior
- need to compensate for impairments.
The integrative specialist service of the municipal daycare facilities (internal specialist service)
- offers specialist service hours and parent meetings
- advises on all questions relating to an inclusive place
- supports teams on the topic of inclusion.
The specialist service hours are based on the needs of the child. The specialist service comes to the facility on a weekly basis and accompanies your child. The support plan is drawn up in consultation with you.
FAQ on the integrative place in a daycare center
An integrative place includes support and assistance in the form of specialist service hours. These hours are offered on the premises of the facility during the booking period.
Depending on the child's needs, the facility management decides whether the internal or an external specialist service is commissioned.
An integrative place is a form of integration assistance for children and young people with increased support needs. The deviation from health must be described in a medical report. A psychological report is generally not suitable. In some cases, the deviation from health is described by doctors as an (impending) disability. These can be physical, mental or psychological impairments. The need for support is precisely described by specialists at the facilities and substantiated by observations.
Each daycare center decides for itself whether children can occupy an inclusive place in the respective facility. The decision focuses on the additional needs of the child. The facility's spatial and personnel resources must also be taken into account.

You will need an expert opinion from your pediatrician to submit the application.
This will describe the impairment of your child.
Your institution will write a development report for your child. In this report, observations are used to justify the need for support and assistance.

In general, there are two different legal bases for an integrative place after starting school.
- In the case of physical or mental impairments, you can apply to the district of Middle Franconia for integration assistance. (§ 99 SGB IX)
- If the need is more in the area of behavioral or mental impairment, you should submit the application to the General Social Service or directly to the Lernstube. (§ 35a SGB VIII)
If you have any questions regarding responsibility, you can contact the teachers at your facility at any time. In any case, it is advisable to speak to your institution before applying for this assistance.
The following FAQs describe the different application procedures for school children with mental or intellectual disabilities.
As a rule, you will need an opinion from a child and adolescent psychiatrist. A psychological report is not usually suitable. This statement describes the impairment of your child.
Your institution will write a development report for your child. In this report, observations are used to justify where support and assistance is required.
The application for integration assistance is submitted to the General Social Service (ASD) and must be signed by all legal guardians. One or more meetings will be held with your family to clarify your needs. The ASD will then draw up a description of the situation. The application to the ASD is part of a consultation process. This will clarify which youth welfare services are suitable and necessary as an alternative or in addition to the application for an integrative place.
An exception applies if your child is cared for in a learning center . In this case, the application is submitted directly to the Lernstube.
