Franconian parish fair culture in Rennes
Stand: 25.08.2025
First part of the cultural heritage exchange between Franconia and Brittany
From 16 to 18 March 2024, the Kulturverein Erlangen took part in the "Sevenadur" festival, which is organized annually by the Cercle Celtique de Rennes. With this festival, the Cercle Celtique presents an extensive program that brings the diverse intangible cultural heritage of Brittany to life. The Erlangen Cultural Association presented Franconian parish fair culture to the Rennais audience with various program items. After a Franconian cooking course and a workshop with Franconian dances, visitors to the closing festival had the opportunity to try Franconian specialties and listen to the music of Anke Horling on the accordion.
The invitation from the Erlangen Cultural Association was the first part of an exchange on intangible cultural heritage between Brittany and Franconia, which was organized this year to mark the 60th anniversary of the twinning of the two cities. The second part of the exchange took place in November 2024, with a visit by the Cercle Celtique de Rennes to Erlangen. You can find a report here.
This exchange was supported by the Franco-German Citizens' Fund.
