Städt. Integrative Primary School Learning Center Max-Planck-Str. 42
Stand: 21.10.2024
The integrative primary school learning room Max-Planck-Straße is a daycare facility for children of primary school age. The municipal learning rooms offer children, young people and their families holistic education, individual support and integration as well as advice on special challenges and questions.
The facility offers places for 16 children. Of these, up to three places are provided for individual integration in accordance with §35a SGB VIII and §99 SGB IX. The staff of the facility consists of a manager and two specialists.
The Lernstube is located in the Erlangen Bruck district near the Brucker Lache elementary school, the Emmy Noether grammar school and the Max-Planck-Straße bus stop.
A special feature of the Max-Planck-Straße primary school nursery is that it is housed in a GEWOBAU residential complex. This means that the facility is close to the children's and families' homes and living environment.
The rooms offer the children a family atmosphere. There is an eat-in kitchen in the learning room. This is where the children eat lunch together, which is prepared by a housekeeper. This room is also used as a group room. The Lernstube also has two homework rooms, each equipped with a children's computer. The creative room is not only used for creative activities and work projects, it is also used as a third homework room. The exercise room can be used in a variety of ways thanks to a rail system on the ceiling and walls. Various sports elements can be attached to it. This allows the children to experience different types of movement and promotes motor skills. A therapy room is used as a quiet room and for individual support. Role-playing games can be created there and materials invite children to build and construct. A small adjoining outdoor area can also be used.
The focus is on learning for life in the academic, social and practical areas. A clear, recurring daily and weekly structure and fixed rituals give the children a sense of security. The children complete their homework in three fixed small groups of a maximum of six children. Throughout the school year, the children are supported by a pedagogical specialist who accompanies the parents/guardians to teacher meetings if requested. We also work closely with the children's families. Through door-to-door talks, telephone calls and regular parent-teacher meetings, we are in close contact with the parents/guardians and also take on an advisory role.
The children learn to treat each other with respect by working together. They internalize the values that the children are taught on a daily basis. We support the children in language and social skills and help them to resolve conflicts. In our daily work, the children feel that their talents and abilities are recognized and that they can develop their personality. The children experience self-efficacy through participation in many areas. The children take on tasks in everyday group life and thus acquire important practical life skills. We support the holistic development of the children through targeted educational offers, activities and projects.
During school hours, the Lernstube offers childcare from 11.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays. There are up to 30 closing days per calendar year, which are scheduled during vacation periods where possible. During the vacations, the facility is open from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. Individual arrangements can be made with the parents/guardians. During the vacations, we go on longer excursions and various activities to broaden the children's experience.
Once a year, we take the children on a 4-day vacation trip. This gives them the opportunity to get to know new places and to find their way around in unfamiliar surroundings.
