Last week, Vasyl Dovgan, Head of the Civil Defense Department, Mykola Zinchenko, City Councillor and Petro Babych, Deputy Mayor of Brovary came to Jena and picked up two minibuses with wheelchair ramps.
The vehicles were procured and financed by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) as part of the "Improving Civil Protection and Reconstruction in Municipal Partnerships with Ukraine" program. In the triangular partnership between Erlangen, Jena and Brovary, both German municipalities each received a vehicle and organized the collection of the minibuses from Jena.

Social cabs for inclusive mobility

The minibuses with wheelchair ramps are now being used in Brovary as social cabs for disadvantaged population groups and for transporting children with special educational needs to educational institutions. This facilitates access to education in the Ukrainian municipality and makes mobility in the city more inclusive. The mayor of Brovary, Igor Sapozhko, thanked the German municipalities of Jena and Erlangen for the vehicles and their solidarity.

The truck is opened by a person and you can see products welded onto pallets: the new rehabilitation equipment has arrived in Brovary.
