Internship in the press office

Are you currently studying and interested in gaining new or initial experience in press and public relations work? Do you enjoy writing press releases and creating online and social media content? Are you interested in what happens in Erlangen from day to day in terms of city politics and culture? Then the city administration's press office is the right place for you.

We are looking for an intern for the central press and public relations department. The duration is up to three months by arrangement. This is a full-time position (block or semester internship) and a non-remunerated internship.

The area of responsibility includes

• Assisting with the preparation of press releases and the fortnightly newsletter
• Assisting with the maintenance and design of the website www.erlangen.de and the social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube etc.)
• Support with ongoing projects

We expect

• Enrollment for a degree (Bachelor or Master) in media studies, communication studies, political science, media design, journalism, media-ethics-religion or comparable courses of study
• Very good knowledge of German
• Good feel for graphics and design
• Independent, reliable and structured way of working

Desirable are

• Proof of practical experience in areas such as journalism or online communication, e.g. through internships or comparable experience
• Knowledge of image and video editing
