Your tasks:
- Responsible management and development as well as personnel management of the press and public relations department with currently 6 employees
- Overall city-wide coordination of press and public relations work as well as overarching development and implementation of communication formats and strategies
- Overall editorial responsibility for the cross-media editorial team, including writing texts and editing images for the city's website and central social media channels
- Press work, in particular writing press releases and creating photographs as well as planning, organizing and carrying out press conferences, press briefings and other media appointments for the city administration
- Providing cross-media advice to departments and processing and coordinating external media enquiries
- Special tasks such as speeches, greetings and event planning (e.g. open day) as well as participation in the tasks of the disaster control management group (FÜGK) and development of strategies and concepts for crisis communication
Your profile:
- Completed university degree as a Bachelor's or Diploma (FH or Univ.) or Master's degree in (online) journalism, journalism and strategic communication, public relations / public relations, political communication or in the fields of media management and media communication, communication sciences or marketing with a focus on public relations or a comparable course of study with relevant study content in the aforementioned areas
- Management experience and a strong understanding of leadership
- Several years of professional experience in the field of press and public relations, preferably in the public sector or a comparable field
- Experience in communicating administrative actions and crisis situations as well as in dealing with political committees and municipal structures is an advantage
- Very good verbal and written communication skills, high level of commitment, team spirit and flexibility
- Willingness to attend meetings and events outside normal business hours
