The Erlangen City Dictionary
is the indispensable reference work for all those interested in the history of Erlangen.
More than 200 specialist authors have compiled the most important knowledge about Erlangen in 1513 factual articles and 439 biographies and supplemented it with over 1000 illustrations. Around 450 references link the information. The keywords contain further sources and literature references. The Erlangen City Dictionary thus offers a comprehensive overview of the past and present of the city of Erlangen from the fields of politics, society, economy, law, administration, topography, environment, church, culture and education.

Erlangen building blocks for Franconian local history research
Founded in 1954 by Eduard Rühl and Ernst Deuerlein, the "Erlanger Bausteine" have been published together with the city archives since 1991. It is the only scientific periodical that regularly deals with the history of Erlangen and its surrounding area.
