Your Responsibilities:

  • Advising customers on general inquiries at the EJC Service Point through in-person and telephone contact
  • Providing case-specific information and explanations, including regarding document requirements and decisions issued by the relevant departments
  • Advising potential new applicants on eligibility under SGB II and related laws
  • Making a preliminary assessment of citizens’ entitlements based on their specific life circumstances
  • Reviewing rental offers for individuals eligible for benefits who are moving to Erlangen
  • Entering basic data into the OPEN/Prosoz system, creating electronic case files, monitoring deadlines, processing and digitizing mail for the Erlangen Job Center, and monitoring central email inboxes

Your Profile:

  • Eligibility for the second qualification level of the “Administration and Finance” professional track; a completed vocational training program as an administrative assistant or completion of Employee Training Course I (BL I), or a completed three-year vocational training program as a legal assistant
  • Willingness to work during fixed opening and service hours
  • Negotiation skills as well as strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Basic knowledge of social welfare law, particularly regarding SGB II, and foreign language skills are desirable
  • Professional experience in an administrative role with an employer in the public administration sector is an advantage
