About the sewer work
The drainage company has been renovating the sewer network in the city since June 2025. It is planned to complete this city-wide construction project with around 70 pipe liner renovations and around 70 partial repairs by June 30, 2026. The planned deadline was March 31, 2026.
The measure is a so-called trenchless sewer rehabilitation. In contrast to a sewer replacement, for example, it involves several work steps. These include preparatory work, main work, follow-up work and acceptance inspection. These are carried out independently of each other (one after the other) and can be carried out one or two months apart.
A single installation stage is not actually considered complete until the acceptance inspections have been completed and any subsequent remedial work has been carried out. As a rule, the preparatory and follow-up work rarely causes major traffic disruptions. This is because smaller vehicles are used.
