- The following collection times apply: Tuesday and Friday
- Archival materials ordered by Monday evening can be viewed from Wednesday onwards
- Archives ordered by Thursday afternoon can be viewed from Monday onwards
- No more than 10 items should be ordered per day. No more than 5 archival items per order will be presented at the same time.
- Archive work requires a quiet and concentrated environment. The area in front of the reading room is available for telephone calls and conversations as well as for eating and drinking breaks.
- Only the necessary work materials should be brought into the reading room. Coats, folders and bags (including laptops) must be locked in the lockers provided. The City of Erlangen accepts no liability for items left there.
- Please only use pencils for your personal notes and transcripts. These can be obtained from the reading room supervisor.
- Technical problems when handling archive materials - for example, opening glued pages or metal clips - can only be rectified by archive staff.
- Users are liable for any loss or damage they cause to the archive material provided and for any other damage caused when using the archive.
- You may only take your own working photographs after the reading room supervisor has issued you with permission to take photographs.
- You can order high-quality photocopies and reproductions from the archive staff if the state of preservation of the original allows it. You can obtain a corresponding form from the reading room supervisor. The processing of reproduction orders usually takes 2-3 days. A longer period may be required for large orders.
- If the archive materials are required for further use, please inform the reading room supervisor. Archival records that have been made available will be kept for two weeks after the user's last visit.
