Erlangen-West II Urban Development Project

A total of approximately 230 single-family homes and 940 apartments will be built. So far, two development areas (Development Area 410 and Development Area 411) have been completed. The building lots in Development Area 412 have since been sold, and the buildings—with the exception of two projects by GEWOBAU and the WohnGut-ErlangeneGbR housing cooperative—have been completed and are already occupied. Development Area 413, the final phase of the development project, is currently in the planning stage. From the very beginning, the central goal has been to create a residential neighborhood that addresses the challenges of climate change and is aligned with the objective of climate neutrality. Marketing of the developed lots in Construction Area 413—Breite Äcker—is not expected to begin before 2031.

Implementation from 2006 through, tentatively, 2037

The sale of the properties will be used to refinance the planning and development costs.

Public Participation in the Preparation of Zoning Plans for the Development Project Early public participation for the final construction phase of the urban development project (Construction Area No. 413) is scheduled to take place in 2026. Report on the Preliminary Studies for the Area Between Klein-Kosbacher-Weg and Häuslinger Straße (Erlangen-West II) and Designation of the Urban Development Area (Document No. VO 726798; UVPA Resolution of November 29, 2005) The necessary resolutions have already been adopted for the construction phases that have been completed and those currently under construction.
